The 1993 film GUMRAH is a Hindi-language Bollywood directed by Mahesh Bhatt, starring Sridevi, Sanjay Dutt, and Rahul Roy.

The story revolves around Roshni (Sridevi), a talented singer who is raised by a kind family after her own parents die. She becomes a successful performer but has a naïve trust in people.

Roshni reconnects with an old friend, Rahul (Rahul Roy), who lures her into traveling abroad for a concert. However, she is unknowingly used as a DRUG MULE 

Rahul puts DRUG in her bag without her knowing.

When she lands in Hong Kong, the police arrest her for drug smuggling, and she is sentenced to death under the country's strict laws.

Jaggi (Sanjay Dutt),decides to help Roshni prove her innocence 

But in real life Sanjay Dutt was arrested in 1993 for possession of Gun and went to jail for 5 years.

And when he got out of Jail , he did the movie Vaastav for which he got the BEST ACTOR AWARD. 

In Vaastav, at the end , his own mother kills him, a gun shot at the head because he became too bad.

Sri devi passed away in 2018 under mysterious reasons, drowning.
